キューバの伝説的ピアニスト、ルベーン・ゴンザレス。１９１９年生まれ、９７年７７歳にして初めてのソロ・アルバムをリリース。
本作はわずか２日間の間で録音してしまったと言う事だが、恐るべき集中力と彼のピアノに対する愛情は計り知れない。

ブエナ・ビスタ・ソシアルクラブ珠玉の名盤、ルベーン・ゴンサーレスの『イントロデューシング』が初のヴァイナル・リリース!!!しかもエクステンディッド&アンリリースド・トラックあり。これは全キューバ音楽ファン、ラテン音楽ファンが持つべき真のマスターピース。

他のブエナ・ビスタ出演陣と同じくキューバで忘れ去れていたベテラン・ピアニスト、ルベーン・ゴンサーレスが77歳のときにレコーディングしたピアノ・ソロ作品がエクステンディッド・トラック(編集で短くされていたものを編集なしにしたバージョン)、そして未発表音源として DESCARGA RUBEN Y CACHAITO を追加して再リリース。
アナログは初です。
ダンソン、チャチャなど古きよきキューバ音楽のサロン音楽を絶妙なテクニックで演奏する熟の極み的名盤。老境の粋が詰まった飛び切り洒脱なルベーンのピアノ。天上界の音楽。

ヴィム・ヴェンダース監督のドキュメンタリー映画
『Buena Vista Social Club』で一躍脚光を浴びた
キューバ音楽。映画にも出演していた伝説的
ピアニストのハバナ録音、1997年作。
